Episode 001        Lori Jill Isenstadt, IBCLC

All About Breastfeeding, the place where the girls hang out

First show

As a lactation consultant, I have long since recognized the lack of information mothers have about breastfeeding. Not only about early breastfeeding difficulties but also how this impacts their postpartum lifestyle. Breastfeeding comes fairly easy for some mothers and I want them to know that it may not come easy for your sister or best friend. I want you to know that you can be of great help to them.  You can provide emotional support, practical help and suggest they seek professional help.  For some mothers, early breastfeeding is more challenging than they thought it would be. It is very emotional and exhausting for some mothers.  When this happens, we tend to become very overwhelmed, isolate ourselves and some mothers become depressed.

This podcast first show is for pregnant ladies who are waiting to give birth and experience breastfeeding, for mothers who have enjoyed easy and comfortable breastfeeding and for mothers who have some struggles and for the mothers who have extreme challenges.   I want you all to know that prenatal breastfeeding education is helpful.   There are lots of tips that you can learn from class and from other moms.   For those who are having challenges, you are not alone, there is help and mothers who had an easier time of it can be helpful emotional support.  The ONE most major, biggest, all time complaint that moms have is:  They have few to no other mothers in their life who are sharing their real breastfeeding stories. Real Life stories, information, support and advocacy.. all breastfeeding related.  My why?  I want to build a community that mothers can learn from each other, gain strength from their stories, and spread goodwill about breastfeeding, wherever they go.

Quote – Lori Jill Isenstadt. Although it is such a long name, which I do like, I hope to one day be so famous that everyone knows me as LJI, kind of an Oprah thing that I have dreamed about for many years.
